Our theme this year is Joyful Surrender, meaning we must surrender all earthly desires in exchange for the work of the Holy Spirit within and through us. In doing so, we realize that the joy obtained from receiving God’s love far surpasses any temporal satisfaction from our own doing. With this joyful surrender, we are daily challenged to respond with a wholehearted attitude of servanthood, the inevitable response to Christ’s ultimate example on the Cross.
Our theme verse is Philippians 3:7-8 1:4-5: “But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ.”
We are a fellowship for college students located at Bread of Life Church in Torrance, California. We believe that Jesus Christ has paid the price for our sins once and for all, and we strive as a fellowship to grow in intimacy with our Lord and Father. Students from local college campuses are a part of our fellowship. Members represent El Camino College, CSU Dominguez Hills, CSU Long Beach, UC Irvine, UCLA, UC Riverside, and other schools.
We meet on Fridays at 7:30 PM for a time of corporate musical worship, teaching from the Bible, and fellowship.
We also meet Sunday mornings at 9 AM for our English congregation worship service, followed by our college Sunday School class which begins at 11 AM.
